Play Yellow takes on the PGA Merchandise Show
It may be February and golf might not be on the agenda for a few more months in most of the country. However, for three days last month in Orlando, Play Yellow was on full display to all the golf industry at the PGA Merchandise Show. We were excited to meet with hundreds of golf professionals and representatives from other golf industry organizations. In addition to raising awareness about Play Yellow, we also launched our newest initiative, Play Yellow Family Golf Day.
Play Yellow Family Golf Day is coming on June 7, 2020, the same day as the final round of The Memorial Tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus. The goal of Family Golf Day is for courses across the country to set aside a day to raise money for their local children’s hospital. Over the past few months, we have been working with the PGA of America and golf management companies including Marriott Golf, Troon, and TPC Network to begin getting the word out about Family Golf Day. This month, we have started to reach out to the program directors to inform them on next steps for the initiative. These communications will continue through the beginning of March when we will launch the official registration window for Family Golf Day. More information is available at PlayYellow.org on the Family Golf Day tab.
In addition to Family Golf Day, we have been busy planning many other Play Yellow activities for 2020. Play Yellow will officially launch this year the week of February 24th during the Honda Classic in North Palm Beach, Florida. This event is hosted by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus and their Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. We are also working to finalize the details of several retail campaigns with partners including Topgolf, Callaway, PGA TOUR Superstore, and Bridgestone Golf. More details will be announced for these in upcoming communications.
