Market Alignment Project Prepares to Move Forward for Final Board Review and Approval
The proposed Market Alignment Process will be recommend to the Board of Trustees of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in June along with the recommended policy for implementation of a binding agreement, should collaborative negotiations between markets fail to reach a clear decision in a timely and collegial manner.
By the numbers we feel good about MAP PROCESS PROPOSAL and the feedback we’ve received during 21 one-on-one interviews with CDOs, from 162 participants on 3 town hall calls, over 60 CDO participants in a 90 minute session at the CDO Summit, and a thoughtful discussion with the board of trustees and key CMN Hospital partners during the Children’s Hospitals Week in Orlando.
The feedback we received was very helpful and insightful. Questions, for the most part, were clarifying with regard to timing, determining what triggers a request for map realignment, the role of the CMN Hospitals national office, and review of the binding decision policy.
We recognize that not every specific scenario can be planned for with regard to market realignment. We also believe that the proposed process, first and foremost, must be collegial and with positive intent with regards to raising more funds locally to support children’s hospitals and provides a firm footing to begin your respective discussions.
Please note that these market realignments are relevant only to CMN Hospitals member hospital realignment discussions with another CMN Hospitals member hospital. At this time CMN Hopsitals is not inviting any new and/or additional members into the network.
An updated draft of the MAP Committee’s recommendation for your reference and comments can be found by CLICKING HERE. In addition, we anticipate the 2020 membership agreement update will include modest changes reflecting the binding decision policy should a negotiation reach that level.
Two CMN Hospitals member hospitals have already begun conversations just a week after our MAP presentation in Orlando.
If you still have questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out prior to April 30 when our final draft will go to print for the CMN Hospitals’ Board of Trustees review at their June meeting.
With appreciation of your feedback,
