Nordstrom to Host Holiday Fundraising Campaign for CMN Hospitals

This year, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has welcomed a number of amazing brands to our network, and the New Business Development Team is excited to share another major brand joining our team. Leading fashion retailer Nordstrom will be hosting a fundraising campaign this holiday season!

Ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of the 2018 World’s Most Admired Companies, Nordstrom is a great brand to have supporting the Network. They want to make a local impact for hospitals, and have set a goal of $200,000 from their full-service stores.  This holiday campaign will impact approx. 50 markets in the US and Canada. The New Business Development team is working to expand activations into e-commerce, online and other Nordstrom brands.

The Nordstrom relationship is a testament to the power of our network, and of the referral system we have in place.  A big thank you to Jenine Rabin, Executive Vice President at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Tampa-St. Petersburg, who introduced us to her board member, VP of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations for Nordstrom to help get this partnership started. Note: Jenine will be sharing her experience and best practices with introducing a contact to the New Business Development Team at the CDO Summit in October. We look forward to her thoughts and hope you can join us in St. Louis.

Key details for the campaign are below and complete information is posted on Mission Control.

  • Campaign Dates: October 29-December 24, 2018
  • Campaign Type:  Register/POS campaign
  • Donation Amount: $10 at the register
  • Store List: There are 126 stores participating, and the list has been uploaded to Mission Control.
  • Hospital Expectations: Given the time of year, we expect that this will be a low-touch campaign as the stores focus on their holiday shoppers. We also know the local connection is very important to Nordstrom, as well as the impact of funds raised.  We will be asking hospitals to engage with the store managers and build support locally.  Specifics are being developed and will be shared on Mission Control.

As the campaign develops information will be posted to Mission Control and Essentials. Any questions regarding the campaign and the partnership can be directed to Peter Ries (pries@cmnhospitals.org) and Staci Cross (SCross@cmnhospitals.org).
