Partnership Model – Advanced Copy of CEO Communication

Thank you to all that have taken the time to attend one of the town hall meetings we recently held regarding the new Partnership Model.

As promised, below is what we have prepared to send Monday, March 5 from the Board of Trustees Chair, John Bozard, to your hospital Chief Executive Officer updating them on this process. As a courtesy we wanted to send this to you in advance. Following the board vote on March 6, we will send you an advanced copy of the announcement from John Lauck we plan to send the next day to CEO’s notifying them of the voting results. You will be included on all communications to your CEO.

If you have any questions, please feel free to look at the FAQs or re-listen to the call. If you have any market specific questions, please reach out to Emily Cawley – ecawley@cmnhospitals.org, to arrange a meeting time with Shirley Rogers, Teri Nestel, and Spencer Brown, or a member of the Partnership Model subcommittee

As Chair of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ Board of Trustees (BOT), I am writing on behalf of the CDO Advisory Committee to give you an update on the proposed Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals 2019 partnership model.

You may recall that in May 2016, we established the Chief Development Officer Advisory committee, a standing committee of the BOT, to fulfill the need for CDOs to offer objective insights, by providing support and council to the CMN Hospitals President and CEO, senior leadership and the Board of Trustees on communication, strategy and policy that will help strengthen the interest and values shared by the network. The proposed partnership model is one area in which the CDO Advisory Committee has been extremely valuable in providing insight and guidance from senior hospital leadership.

From past experience we have learned that the best decisions are made when we engage our membership. We’re thankful for the more than 100 markets that reached out to offer feedback and suggestions on the new partnership model.

The proposed 2019 model will be presented to the Board of Trustees for the official vote at our next board meeting on March 6. I will let you know the outcome of the vote shortly after the meeting. Last week CMN Hospitals staff members shared the specifics of how the new model will impact your hospital with your teams. I encourage you to meet with them and familiarize yourself with the new model.

Thank you to all who have taken advantage of the various opportunities to provide feedback on the 2019 partnership model. We heard from more than two thirds of the Network and I believe this has led to the creation of a model that is as equitable as possible.

Thank you for your involvement, partnership and continued confidence.

John Bozard
