CMN Hospital’s Miss America Partnership
Below are emails from 12/22/17 and 12/28/17 sent from John Lauck to all Hospitals Stakeholders.

Good afternoon,
Changes within the Miss America Organization continue to make headlines. The latest: several members of the organization’s leadership have resigned and the organization is in the beginnings of moving forward.
At this time, we do not feel it is necessary for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to terminate its relationship with the Miss America Organization. Rather, we want to see what changes take place and how those changes will affect our future partnership.
Overall, our experience with the local, state and national Miss America participants and titleholders has been wonderful. Since the late 1980s each current Miss America has served as our National Goodwill Ambassador and like our current ambassador, Cara Mund, they have each reflected the values and mission of CMN Hospitals as they have helped raise funds and awareness for children’s hospitals across the United States.
We are hopeful to be able to continue with this nearly 100-year-old organization. We continue to monitor the situation in order to ensure the partnership will always reflect our values and overall mission.
We will continue to keep you up to date as appropriate. All communications about this matter should come from an official Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals spokesperson. Should you be contacted, any questions from the media should be directed to Sally Gilotti, sgilotti@cmnhospitals.org.
Thanks,
John

Dear colleagues,
Last night, The Huffington Post released the following article: The Miss America Emails: How the Pageant’s CEO Really Talks about the Winners. As a partner with the Miss America Organization, we are closely monitoring the story and developments. Here’s our statement:
We are appalled by the alleged conduct of Sam Haskell and other trusted Miss America leaders and add our voice to others demanding investigation, action and change. We are currently evaluating our ongoing partnership with the Miss America Organization and in the event appropriate actions are not taken we will have no other choice than to dissolve our relationship.
We will keep you up to date as appropriate. Should you be contacted, any questions from the media should be directed to Sally Gilotti, sgilotti@cmnhospitals.org.
Thanks,
John
